Great Tomato Project

Offered by the County every year. Raise tomatoes in your own yard and bring to the grange when they are ripe. Cost is $6 and you'll receive 3 varieties of tomatoes, fertilizer and plastic mulch. Registration form is in county clover - participation is limited and needs to be in by May 1st.

Get recognized for your success - 4-H State Achievement days!

Compete in your favorite activities - all shooting sports, Avian bowl, Canine Super Bowl, Dairy, Fashion Revue, Hippology, Horse Bowl, Livestock, Physical Fitness, Presentations, Public Speaking, Rabbit, Chorus, Tractor driving or non competitive Questing and Science Symposium.

August 6-8th - three days at Penn State campus  $190

Members are allowed to compete for 1 event.

March Monthly Meeting


Tuesday, March 12th – Hilltown Building

7pm – 8pm (Officers to arrive by 6:45 to prepare)

 

We are presenting a guest speaker Mr Engleman (former cub master of Pack 196) who will have a talk with the kids about money and finances. I have known Mr Engelman for many years and he is wonderful with engaging kids and motivating them! We will be using this to kick off a money program to start in April (after Breads)

 

For anyone who signed up for Quick Breads – we will be meeting every other Monday beginning March 18th for a period of 4 weeks – I have starter kits for Friendship bread available at this week’s meeting. We’ll be making muffins, waffles, breads and more – another project you can BITE into!

 

SPECIAL Community service project THIS SUNDAY March 17th! (3pm- 5pm)

We’ll be putting together our Easter baskets to deliver to the Dublin Food Pantry for Easter.  We be making about 18 baskets and need creative fillers for the baskets.

We need each family to bring enough of one or more items to put in 18 baskets  – pocket games, party favors, candy, basket treats. Please let me know what you can bring. (We’ll have a sign up for the meeting) We also need anyone that can bring baskets, grass, bows, and plastic wraps. If you cannot make it on Sunday to help assemble the baskets – if you can bring Easter treats with you to the meeting.

Genealogy

We will be meeting at the Indian Valley Public Library tonight at 7pm for genealogy to find some new sources of research sources. Mary Porter from the library will have computers set up with databases, microfilms from local newspapers. Please bring a flash drive (I will have some with plenty of space) to save files.

Review your notes and be prepared to look up specific information. We will have... access to the Souderton Independent Newspaper back to 1880’s, Family Search (Mormon database) Full subscription to ancestry.com (more options than my subscriptions) you won’t have your tree open from your ancestry account. Print out family group sheets where you need information to bring and can search. (If you’re family tree is public, you can look up information on ancestry from your tree) Will also be able to search using genealogy bank and fold 3.
